Oppana

A traditional Muslim wedding dance form from Kerala, characterised by hand clapping and celebratory group movements. Often performed at cultural functions and competitions. Requires strong group coordination and expressive delivery.

Kerala Folk Dance

Includes vibrant group folk traditions deeply rooted in Kerala's rural cultural identity. These forms are frequently choreographed for stage events, school competitions, and community programmes, teaching students collective energy and cultural pride.

Our Method

A Structured Training System That Builds Real Artists

Adavus: Foundation Steps

Every student begins with the foundational units of movement. Adavus build the body's muscle memory for rhythm, posture, and coordination before any composition is introduced.

Posture & Body Alignment

Classical dance demands precise body geometry. Students are trained in Araimandi (half-sit position), Muzhumandi, and upper-body carriage from the very first lesson.

Rhythm & Tala Training

Dance is inseparable from rhythm. Students learn to count, feel, and embody tala cycles, building an internal rhythmic sense that supports both solo and ensemble performance.

Abhinaya: Facial Expression

Abhinaya is the language of classical dance. Students are trained to convey the nine rasas (emotions) through eyes, eyebrows, and facial microexpressions, the most powerful aspect of Indian classical arts.

Mudras: Hand Gestures

There are 64 fundamental Mudras in Bharatanatyam alone. Students learn each gesture with its meaning, enabling them to literally 'speak' through their hands.

Stage Preparation & Performance

Theory is completed on stage. Students participate in internal recitals, inter-school competitions, and large-scale cultural productions, building genuine stage confidence.
