She trains for arangetram, not just for shows

The arangetram, a Bharatanatyam dancer's solo debut, is the gold standard. Mini has prepared dozens of students for theirs and continues to be the senior guru in a multi-faculty centre that supports them with music, costume and venue logistics.

She lives the work

Mini is in the studio nine to nine, six days a week, and has done so for thirty-four years. There is no part-time guru behind the title; the discipline she demands of students is what she models herself.
